It is not permissible for a Muslim to touch the Qur’an while he is not performing ablution according to the majority of scholars, and this is the view of the four imams
It is what the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, used to give fatwas. In that, there was an authentic hadith with no harm in the hadith of Amr ibn Hazm : that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wrote to the people of Yemen: that no one touches the Qur’an except those who are pure, and it is a good hadith that has paths that strengthen each other, Thus, it is known that it is not permissible to touch the Qur’an for a Muslim except in the state of purity from the major and minor impurities.
This is how he moved it from one place to another if the carrier was not in a state of purity, but if he touched it or moved it by means, such as taking it in a wrap or in a pouch or on its attachment, there is nothing wrong with it. .
As for reciting, there is nothing wrong with reciting while he is speaking by heart, or reciting, and whoever recites the Qur’an for him and opens it to him, there is nothing wrong with that. With a good chain of narrators on the authority of Ali : The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came out of the stool and recited something from the Qur’an, and he said this to someone who is not next to him. As for the one who is not on the side, neither nor a verse. What is meant is that the one who is impurity does not read either from the Qur’an or by heart until he takes a bath. To read by heart and not touch the Koran.
Here is an issue related to this matter, which is the issue of the menstruating woman and the postpartum woman, whether they recite Qur’an or not. There is a difference of opinion among the scholars, some of them said: Do not recite the Qur’an and attach them to the side, and the second saying: They recite by heart without touching the Qur’an, because the period of menstruation and puerperium is long and not like the side. ; Because the side can wash immediately and read.
As for the menstruating woman and the postpartum woman, you cannot do that until after they have become pure, so it is not correct to measure them on the side because of the above. The two Sahihs on the authority of the Prophet, peace be upon him, said to Aisha when she menstruated during Hajj: Do what the pilgrim does other than do not circumambulate the House until you are cleansed, and the pilgrim recites the Qur’an and the Prophet, peace be upon him, did not make an exception for him. in the farewell pilgrimage,
This indicates that the menstruating woman and the postpartum woman can read the Qur’an, but without touching the Qur’an. As for the hadeeth of Ibn Umar on the authority of the Prophet, peace be upon him, that he said: The menstruating woman and the one who is in a state of impurity should not recite anything from the Qur’an, it is a weak hadith, in its chain of transmission is Ismail ibn Ayyash on the authority of Musa ibn Uqbah, and the scholars of hadith They weaken Ismail’s narration from the Hijazis and say: He is good in his narration from the people of Levant, the people of his country, but he is weak in his narration from the people of Hijaz, and this hadith from his narration from the people of Hijaz is weak.
