كتعبيده لغير الله، كعبد المسيح ونحو ذلك، أو يكون اسما لا يستحسن التسمي به وغيره أفضل منه، كحزن يبدل بسهل، وكذا ما أشبهه من الأسماء التي لا يستحسن التسمي بها.لكن التغيير فيما عبد لغير الله يكون واجبا، أما ما سواه فهو من باب الاستحسان والأفضلية. ويدخل في القسم الثاني الأسماء التي اشتهر النصارى بالتسمي بها ويتوهم من سمعها أن صاحبها نصراني، فالتغيير فيها مناسب جدا.
وفق الله الجميع لما يحبه ويرضاه، ومنحنا وإياكم الفقه في الدين والثبات عليه. والسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته[1].


I tell you that there is nothing in the legal evidence that dictates the obligation of a person who was guided by God to Islam to change his name, unless there is something that legally dictates that, such as worshiping someone other than God, such as a servant of Christ and the like, or if it is a name that is not appropriate to give a name to and others are better than it, such as sadness that is replaced by ease. The same applies to the names that are similar to it that it is not recommended to be named. But changing what is worshiped to someone other than God is obligatory, and what is other than it is a matter of approval and preference. And enters in the second section the names that the Christians were famous for giving them names and those who heard them imagine that their owner is a Christian, so changing them is very appropriate.
