circumambulation method
#3d85c6; font-size: medium;">The Ta’if begins his circumambulation from the corner in which the Black Stone is, then he receives the stone, receives it*, and kisses it if he can without hurting the people by crowding them. And it is the place from which he started the circumambulation, and thus one circumambulation has been completed for him, then he repeats it until seven rounds are completed for him.]
Tawaf duties
There must be things in the circumambulation that cannot be accomplished without it, and they are: The intention: the person performing the circumambulation must intend the circumambulation in his heart, and be certain about this intention, and define it as worshiping God - the Most High -. considered a tawaf; In the absence of the intention,[2] as for the circumambulation of naafil, or vows, the intention is obligatory upon reaching the Black Stone and the beginning of the circumambulation. Because in these places it is included under the intention of Hajj, but nevertheless it is a Sunnah in it.[3] Covering the private parts that must be covered in prayer: as stated in the hadith (there is no one who goes around the house naked),[4] if the nakedness of Taif becomes apparent, it is built on it directly, and His circumambulation is completed.[5] Purification from impurity and impurity: Purification is required in the body of the pilgrim from impurity, and his purity from uncleanness as well, and in the place of his circumambulation, and the garment in which he is circumambulating; If a person performs ritual ritual ablution, or his body, clothes, or place of circumambulation become impure, then he purifies himself, then builds on his circumambulation, but if the impurity prevails in the place, and it is difficult for people to avoid that, he is excused from it, provided that the person walking on it does not deliberately, and that there is no moisture in it. [5] As for the condition of purity in its generality according to the Hanafi school, it is not an obligation, but rather they make it obligatory, whether it is from impurity, youth, postpartum, or menstruation. Because God - the Most High - commanded to circumambulate without restricting the condition of purity, and that is by saying: (And to circumambulate the Ancient House). [6][2] Beginning with the Black Stone: The tawaf must begin his circumambulation from the Black Stone. It is not valid, even if he was inattentive, and the circumambulation ends with him as well.[3] Make the house on his left: he must make the house towards his left side, if the house is placed on his right, or any other direction, the circumambulation is not valid; Because he denied what the Sharia has brought.[3] The circumambulation has seven circuits: the tawaf must complete seven circuits without missing a beat. It was mentioned in his mind as in prayer.[3] To be inside the mosque and outside the house: The tawaf must be within the boundaries of the mosque, so it is not valid to circumambulate outside the mosque unanimously, and at the same time it should be outside the Kaaba; For He, the Most High, said: (And to circumambulate the Ancient House),[7] so the person is going around the House or around it, and there is no part of his body in it; Because in this case there will be a tawaf in it and not in it.[3] And the Maliki jurists stipulated additional conditions, which are: Allegiance: that the circuits of the circumambulation should not be separated by a large separation, whether it was for a need or not. The first is, unless the separation is for the obligatory prayer, so he completes the circumambulation based on the circuits he has circumambulated after the end of the prayer, and begins with the Black Stone. If he is able to walk, then he must repeat the circumambulation before leaving Mecca, otherwise he will have to pay a sacrifice*, but if he repeats it, he does not have to do anything. 9]
Sunnahs of circumambulation
There are many sunnahs in tawaf, among which are mentioned: [10] Walking barefoot: it is Sunnah for the pilgrim to walk barefoot unless it is very hot and the like. To increase the wage in abundance. Receiving the stone: by touching the pilgrim with his right hand or with his hands in each circumambulation. Kissing the Stone: It is Sunnah for the Ta’if to kiss the Stone, and it is makrooh to raise his voice while kissing it, and it is not Sunnah for a woman to kiss except in solitude. Placing the forehead on the stone: It is Sunnah for the pilgrim to place his forehead on the stone, except when he is unable to do so. Because of crowding, or others, the deficit indicated with his hand. Receiving the Yemeni Corner: The Taif receives the Yemeni Corner with his hand; For the Prophet - peace be upon him - did; It was narrated on the authority of Abdullah bin Omar - may God be pleased with him - that he said: (The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did not allow to touch the Yemeni corner and the stone in every raft. Al-Ta’if What was narrated from the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - and his companions of supplications and supplications, and most of the remembrances mentioned in this section are not all valid, except that they fall under the origin of the virtues of deeds, including supplication. Receiving the Black Stone, and at the beginning of the circumambulation: (In the name of God, God is the Greatest, O God, out of faith in You, believing in Your Book, fulfilling Your covenant, and following the Sunnah of Your Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him), [12] This supplication is repeated when passing through the Black Stone in every circumambulation. And he says in the three circuits at Ramla: (Oh God, make it an acceptable Hajj, a forgiven sin, and a commendable effort) [13] and he says in the remaining four circuits: And save us from the torment of the Fire.” [1] 4 [15] [10] For more details about the supplications and remembrances of circumambulation, see the article: ((Supplications for circumambulation and quest during Umrah)). Raml in the first three: In the first three rounds of the tawaf, it is Sunnah for a man to approach the footsteps and walk quickly in what is known as the sand. Al-Ithtiba’ in the Tawaf: It is for the pilgrim to uncover his right shoulder and place the two ends of his cloak under his right shoulder, and the boy does it for him and his guardian. Proximity to the house: It is Sunnah for the man to perform the ritual ritual prayer. Blessed is the house, which is easier to receive, as for the woman, she remains a group in the end of the day, so if she is safe mixing with men, she approaches the house. Two rak’ahs of prayer: Whoever finishes the circumambulation, it is prescribed for him to pray two rak’ahs or more, and the best is to pray them behind the maqam*, and some of them specified it at a distance of three cubits.
circumambulation
The circumambulation includes many great wisdoms. Because it is worship of God - the Almighty -; Where he dwells in the heart of Taif, glorifying God - the Most High - and making him always remember Him - Glory be to Him. Most of the actions of the servant during the circumambulation include remembrance and glorification of God - the Most High - whether in his walking during the circumambulation, or touching the Yemeni corner, or touching the stone, or gesture To him, except for what is on the tongue of the Taif of continuous supplication to God - the Most High - and magnification and veneration. Tawaf idiomatically means that the Muslim worships God - the Most High - by going around the Kaaba in a specific way. Tawaf has been prescribed in the Book and the Sunnah. Almighty: (Taking us home Mathaba people and secure and took the place of Ibrahim Chapel and our covenant to Abraham, Ismail said that my house Tehra for Taivin and sometimes conflicting and Alrkaa prostration), [17], and the son of Omar may Allah be pleased with them said: (The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him If he performed a circumambulation during Hajj or Umrah first, he would perform three circuits, walked four, then prostrated two prostrations, then circumambulate between Safa and Marwah)[18] and since the Umrah consisted of three pillars, the circumambulation was one of them [without it being invalid. 1
Types of tawaf during Hajj
And it is the circumambulation that the pilgrim performs when he reaches the Sacred Mosque,[20] and here is the clarification of the rulings related to it: Its ruling: a Sunnah according to the majority of jurists for the pilgrim who enters Mecca before standing at Arafat. Two units of salutation for him, but if he enters the Sacred Mosque, he means the house, and the greeting of the Sacred House is the circumambulation. Like a woman whose blood continues until the day of Arafat, and it is also waived for the one who lives in Mecca, and for those who are in his ruling is like the one who enters Ihram from Mecca, and it lapses from the one who performs the pilgrimage, and the one who enjoys it according to the majority of jurists; Because the circumambulation of coming here is included in the circumambulation of Umrah, so it is sufficient for them, and it is waived if the pilgrim intends to Arafat to find out the doctrine of the majority of jurists.[22]
Tawaf al-Ifadah
And it is a circumambulation that takes place after the pilgrim departed from Mina to Mecca, and the pilgrim circles it before returning to Mina, and it will be on the Day of Sacrifice,[23] and the following is a statement of some of the rulings related to it: Its ruling: It is a pillar in the Hajj that cannot be completed without it, and there is no dispute among the jurists in that. [24] Its evidence: Among them is the Almighty’s saying: (And to circumambulate the Ancient House),[6] and from it was narrated by the Mother of the Believers Aisha - may God be pleased with her- that she said: (We performed Hajj with the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, from her is what a man wants from his family, so I said: O Messenger of God, she is menstruating. The time for Tawaf Al-Ifadah is from the dawn of the Day of Sacrifice, and it is not valid before it,[26] while the Shafi’is are of the view that the time for Tawaf Al-Ifadah falls on the middle of the night of Sacrifice, as well as stoning Al-Aqabah, slashing, and slaughtering.[27]
farewell circumambulation
And it is the circumambulation that precedes the pilgrim’s return to his home,[28] as for the rulings related to it, including: Its ruling: the majority of jurists made it obligatory upon the pilgrim at the end of the rituals. travel from Mecca; Until that is his last stay at home.[30]
Tawaf Umrah
Umrah has several pillars that are only valid when performing them. Among these pillars is circumambulation around the Kaaba, so whoever wants to perform Umrah is forbidden first, then begins with the Talbiyah until he reaches the Sacred House of God. Then he begins the pilgrimage between Safa and Marwa, and disintegrates after that, and thus he has performed the rituals and pillars of Umrah.[31]
The virtue of circumambulation
The circumambulation of the Sacred House of God is a great worship, and it is one of the greatest acts of worship. God Almighty said: (And to go around the Ancient House),[6] and God has made this worship in a great place, which is the Sacred House; Where he prepared it for the friend Ibrahim - peace be upon him -, then ordered him to prepare and purify him; He says: (Taking place Buana Abraham House that does not involve me something and cleanse my house and those of Taivin and Alrkaa prostration), [32] God has singled Glorified and Exalted in this verse, the worship of wandering, and presented; Where it is not prescribed except in the ancient house, it is not like the i’tikaaf that is valid in every mosque, nor like the prayer that is valid in every pure spot, just as it is an act of worship that it is prescribed to volunteer alone without the other rituals of Hajj and Umrah although it is part of it, and when the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - came And he delivered a pilgrim to Mecca, the first thing he did was to perform ablution, then circumambulate the House. [33] And he commanded - peace be upon him - that the matters of circumambulation be facilitated at all times, and he forbade that any of the Muslims should be prevented from circumambulating, and many scholars have mentioned That circumambulation is better than voluntary prayer, and performing ‘Umrah is the lowest solution. That is, Ihram for another Umrah, and Ibn Qudamah - may God have mercy on him - says: “It is desirable for the one who has come to Mecca to circumambulate the House, because the circumambulation is prayer, and the circumambulation is better than prayer, and the prayer after that”; That is, the voluntary prayer, and Ibn Taymiyyah - may God have mercy on him - says: “As for the fact that the circumambulation of the House is better than the Umrah for one who was in Makkah, this does not doubt the one who knew the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, the Sunnah of his successors, the effects of the Companions, the predecessors of the nation, and its imams.” The virtue of this worship, and the extent of its absolute legality at all times, except in specific cases when performing prayer, performing it, and attending funerals.[3]
The wisdom of circumambulating the Kaaba
Every legislation legislated by God Almighty in the Islamic religion has a wisdom that God wanted from Him, even if man is ignorant of it, and one of the Islamic legislation around which suspicious suspicions arose is the legislation to circumambulate the Kaaba, so some people say: The circumambulation around the Kaaba is like circumambulating the graves of the saints, and it is from idolatry. Worshiping other than God Almighty, and the truth is otherwise. Muslims only circumambulate the honorable Kaaba by order of God Almighty, and everything that a person does by order of God Almighty is pure worship to Him Almighty and there is nothing in it from polytheism or idolatry, and for example, prostration in Islam It is only for God Almighty, and if a person does it to other than God, it is a great polytheism, except that the prostration of the angels to Adam - peace be upon him - when God Almighty commanded them to do so was pure obedience and servitude. Rather, leaving it was blasphemy.[34][35] The circumambulation around the Kaaba is manifested in the greatness, purity and honor of the Holy House of God. The Almighty is attributed to Him, so it will be b That is like a slave who takes refuge at the door of his master, asking him for pardon, forgiveness, kindness and contentment, and he knows that no one answers his needs except him, just as in the circumambulation around the honorable Kaaba mention of God Almighty, glorification and magnification of him and the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - explained this wisdom of circumambulation. By saying: (The circumambulation of the House, between Safa and Marwah, and the stoning of the Jamarat are made; To establish the remembrance of God), [36] Whoever circumambulates the House remains in a state of remembrance and glorification of God, so these meanings are established in his heart so that all his movements such as walking, kissing and touching the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone are worship by which he draws closer to God Almighty with supplication and remembrance.
