Justice means fairness, giving everyone his due, and moderation without exaggeration or negligence, and it is the opposite of injustice and tyranny, and justice is one of the most beautiful names of God; God, the Mighty and Sublime, forbids him to be unjust, even if it is an atom’s weight. His justice is absolute and the human mind cannot comprehend it. We can infer justice in the Islamic religion through the verses that indicate it in the Noble Qur’an and in this universe as well. Because it is a way to the order of life and the piety of hearts, the Almighty said: (O you who believe, be upholding of God, witnesses to justice, and do not let the resentment of people prevent you from being unjust.
Manifestations of justice in Islam
There are many aspects of justice in Islam, so we find justice in legislation, morals, and every command issued by God Almighty, and among these manifestations: God Almighty’s justice in creation: and the manner in which man was created; Where he is just in his form, and in the place of his face and hands, and the rest of his body, and he has made his creation better and made everything in him a predestination, so he created the heavens and the earth, the night and the day, so neither the night nor the day dominates the night, so He made for each of them specific hours, without exaggeration or extravagance. There is no moderation between this and that. Justice in Islamic Legislation: We find God’s justice in our prayers, and the number of their rak’ahs, and His justice in our fasting for thirty days; If it was more than that, we would not have to bear it, and likewise justice in all our cases under the shadow of our upright religion. For example, Islam permits us to break the fast in Ramadan when traveling long, hard, or severe illness. Justice between servants in the reckoning: This is in this world and the hereafter, by taking rights to their owners so that they are not lost, enacting laws and regulations for the judiciary, and adjudicating disputes between people with justice. Justice among the servants in terms of sustenance: God Almighty distributed sustenance to the people, and divided it among them according to His wisdom, knowledge and justice, and in a way that would fix the affairs of individuals.
Obligatory aspects of justice in the life of a Muslim
To be fair with himself: He leads her to do good deeds and monotheism, and to keep away from evil and polytheism, which is the greatest injustice. The Almighty said: (Indeed polytheism is a great injustice) [Luqman:13]. To be fair with his wife: to provide her with her rights and all that she needs, and if he is married to more than one wife, he must be fair between them in all aspects of life in food, drink, housing, and all expenses. To be fair between his children: to provide them with means of a decent life, and not to prefer one over the other with money, treatment, or other things, so that hatred and grudges do not arise between them, and hatred is generated, and they hate each other. To be fair with all people: in his work and all his dealings, wherever he is; God, the Mighty and Sublime, loves justice to prevail among His servants, and hates injustice and oppression among them. The Almighty said: (God commands justice and kindness and giving to kin and forbids indecency and wrongdoing and oppression; He admonishes you to teach you to remember) [An-Nahl: 90].
